The REGARD 7000 4-20 mA Input Module c/w HART serves as power supply and for evaluating any connected 4-20 mA transmitters with HART functionalities. The configuration of full scale deflection, target gas name and measurement unit is carried out semi-automatically through the transmitter settings or manually. Additionally, command 48 of the HART protocol is used to receive diagnostic information from the transmitter. By using the universal FGDS transmitter software PolySoft it is possible to remotely correct the transmitter configuration via the HART tunnel provided by the REGARD 7000. If the configuration of the connected transmitter or the REGARD 7000 is changed during operation, there will be a mismatching warning.
